Guayaquil-Ayampe (La Tortuga) Route:
•By Bus : The visitor has to catch a bus a the Guayaquil Bus terminal to “Sta. Elena”. There are buses available every 30 minutes and the cost is approximately $3,70 USD. When arriving to “Sta. Elena”, the visitor has to catch a bus called “Manglaralto”. The cost is approximately 2,00 USD. The trip lasts approximately 4 hours. On the bus station please take the bus of the Cooperativa CLP, it goes direct to Olón. You can also take any bus to Puerto Lopez and get off on Ayampe. Schedules: 4h30, 13h30, 16h30
• En Vehículo Propio: Debe tomar la siguiente vía hacia la costa:
Progreso - Sta. Elena - Manglaralto - Montañita - Olón - Ayampe (La Tortuga).
Another option to save you some time is take the route from San Viciente passing over Guayaquil going to San Pablo, then you should continue to Ayampe La Tortuga.

Once you are in Puero López please take any bus going to Santa Elena and ask for a stop in Ayampe.
• In your own vehicle:
Option 1:
You will have two choices to go out of Quito:
1. Take the Panamericana Sur to Aloag.
2. Take the Rumiñanhui Free way to Valle de los Chillos then take the Sangolquí way to Amaguaña, Aloag.
Just arriving to Aloag you should take the way to Santo Domingo - El Carmen - Chone - Tosagua - Rocafuerte - Manta - vía Costanera o vía del Pacífico (E 15), passing by Puerto Cayo, Machalilla, Puerto López, Ayampe (La Tortuga). The route from Quito to Ayampe ( La Tortuga) is 8 hours aprox.
Option 2:
Just arriving to Sto. Domingo take the way to Quevedo-Empalme-Portoviejo, and since there you will have to continue to Manta and Jipijapa passing by Pto. Cayo-Machalilla-Pto. López-Ayampe (La Tortuga). This way is in the better conditions than the other ones and it will save you come time.
