AGUA BLANCA ARCHEOLOGICAL AREA
AGUA BLANCA, located 20 minutes from Puerto López, is the first eco-touristic community in the Ecuadorian coast. This area possesses a great archeological potential due to the prehistoric ruins from the Manteña culture, the last one of Ecuador's prehistoric era. You can see their funeral urns and other artifacts on the museum on site, there are also thermal water lagoons, and the Buena Vista river valley is ideal for those who enjoy bird watching.
This entire trajectory is approximately two hours long.
LOS FRAILES BEACH
Considered Ecuador's best naturally preserved beach and South America's fourth best, it is a complex of islands in which Los Frailes is included. This beach is known for the transparency of its waters, its white sand, impressive landscapes and rock formations. Some beaches have predominantly black sand due to its high iron content. There's also a dry tropical forest that surrounds the coast making it an ideal place for swimming and relaxing.
